Scholarships
The following scholarship programs are available:
- NROTC Four-Year Scholarship
- Two-Year and Three Year Scholarships

- Marine Enlisted Commissioning and Education Program
NROTC Four-Year Scholarship
A student interested in obtaining a four-year NROTC scholarship should apply during their junior year of high school. A navy option midshipman will commission as an ensign after receiving their bachelor’s degree. A marine option midshipman will commission as a second lieutenant. There are a number of academic and physical requirements that one must meet in order to be considered for a four-year scholarship. The scholarship includes:
- Full tuition for four academic years
- A book stipend per semester
- A monthly stipend during the academic year
- All uniforms
- Paid summer training for the three summers while in college
How to Apply
- Take the SAT or ACT. The minimum SAT scores are 530 Verbal and 520 Math for navy options or 1000 combined for marine options. The minimum ACT scores are 22 English and Math for navy options or 45 combined for marine options.

Two-Year and Three-Year Scholarships
A college student who has completed at least one semester of classes may apply for a two- or three-year scholarship, without having had any prior involvement in NROTC activities. The requirements and benefits for this scholarship will be the same as those found in the four-year scholarship from the point of acceptance into the program.
Two-Year Scholarship
Students can apply for a two-year scholarship during their sophomore year of college. Students that are awarded a scholarship may be sent to the Naval Science Institute in Newport, RI the summer before their junior year. Two-year scholarship students will also participate in summer training after their junior year.
Three-Year Scholarship
Students can apply for the three-year scholarship if they have already completed at least one semester of college or were not offered a national four-year scholarship and are still interested in pursuing a commission in the Navy or Marine Corps. It is recommended that students enter the NROTC program as a College Program student and apply for the scholarship after completing one semester in the program. Three-year scholarship students will participate in summer training after their sophomore and junior years.
College Program
This is a two-, three- or four-year program available to first-years and sophomores. College program students do not receive the tuition benefits of a scholarship student, but they may apply for a scholarship each semester up until the end of their sophomore year. Navy Nurse Corps Program
Students interested in pursuing a nursing degree (BSN) may apply for the Nursing Scholarship, which allows midshipmen to commission as officers in the Navy Nurse Corps. The eligibility requirements are the same as a regular four-year NROTC scholarship. More information on the Navy Nurse Corps Program is available at the .
Seaman-to-Admiral 21 (STA-21)
STA-21 is a program through which highly qualified sailors, already enlisted in the navy, can make the transition to become an officer. For more information visit the .
Marine Enlisted Commissioning and Education Program (MECEP)
Similar to the STA-21 program, the MECEP program is for enlisted marines who wish to earn a college degree and commission as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. For more information visit the .
